TAN Registration
TAN is an acronym for Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number, an alphanumeric 10-digit number provided by the Income Tax Department of India. Taxes are deducted and collected on a variety of transactions using it.
It's essential to understand that there isn't a real "TAN card." Rather, following a successful TAN application, you obtain a TAN certificate. Here is a general how-to for applying to get a TAN in India:

Application
Form 49B is the application needed to apply for a temporary TAN. This form can be obtained from TIN-FCs (Tax Information Network Facilitation Centers) or via the Income Tax Department's official website.
Submission
Send the finished Form 49B online via the NSDL website or to any TIN-FC.
Essential Records
Make sure you include all required paperwork, including identification and address proof. The instructions on Form 49B include a list of acceptable documents.
Payment
Include the necessary processing fee with your application.
Acknowledgement
Following application submission, you will receive an acknowledgment with a 14-digit acknowledgment number. For future use, keep this number handy.
Processing
Your application will be processed by the TIN Processing Centers, and if all goes according to plan, they will issue the TAN.
Receiver of TAN Certificate
A TAN certificate will be sent to you after the TAN has been assigned. This certificate is a crucial document that needs to be kept secure.
The Income Tax Department's guidelines and forms are subject to change, so make sure you always consult the most recent versions of them. It is advisable to verify the most recent information with the appropriate authorities or a tax professional if you are not in India or if there have been changes to the process.
