Project Export Promotion Council (PEPC)

To promote the export of projects from India, the Ministry of Commerce; And the Government of India established the Project Export Promotion Council of India (PEPC). The Council, headquartered in New Delhi, undertakes export promotion initiatives and provides essential technical information, guidance, and assistance to Indian civil and engineering construction companies, including process engineering contractors and consultants.

The Council will encourage Indian companies to jointly bid for mega projects by promoting technology transfer primarily in sophisticated technology areas. The present article provides a brief understanding of the Indian Project Export Promotion Council (PEPC).

PEPC Services

The Project Exports Promotion Council of India assists Indian civil and engineering (EPC) construction companies, including process engineering contractors and consultants, to set up overseas projects in any of the following modules of engineering services:

  • Civil Construction (Structures/Infrastructure) Turnkey
  • Process and Engineering Consulting Services
  • Project construction materials (except steel and cement)

PEPC Membership Benefits

PEPC regularly collects, aggregates, and disseminates technical and other information about foreign markets and new project possibilities around the world to member companies through a monthly magazine: GPO (Global Project Opportunities).PEPC offers joint ventures, technical cooperation, and strategic alliances to its members. The Council disseminates market information, trends, and policy implications

The PEPC project led to information on the technical, commercial, and technological development of export sectors. PEPC members can participate in major international fairs and specialized trade shows across the world, the Council also organizes buyer-seller meets in India and abroad in addition to B2B meetings in focus countries. Project EPC is providing technical, marketing, and export support to Indian exporters

The Council organizes fairs, seminars, and lectures for the exchange of information, knowledge, ideas, and strategies. The Council bridge between industry members and the government, focusing on the overall growth and development of Indian project exports. PEPC is promoting the promotion of technical and economic cooperation between Indian project exporters and foreign companies. The Council has constituted a screening committee to allow capable companies to undertake projects abroad.

Membership Categories

Merchant exporter, Manufacturer exporter, project exporter, civil and engineering construction, Process and Engineering Consulting Services, Project construction goods (construction engineering products/construction equipment and accessories/project goods other than steel and cement)

Document Required

For merchant exporter
  • A self-attested copy of the Import-Export Code Number issued by the concerned licensing authority
  • Self-certified copy of annual turnover during the previous year
  • Documents in support of mainline i.e., articles of association etc.
  • Solvency certificate from banker
  • Details of PEPC members proposing and approving the membership of the company, duly signed and stamped
For merchant exporter
  • Certified true copy of the registration as manufacturer granted by the State Directorate of Industries with which the applicant is registered as an SSI unit
  • If an applicant is a non-SSI unit, a certified true copy of the Product Code or Factory Code Allotment Letter was issued by DGTD/SIA, New Delhi.
  • A certificate from the Excise Department showing production figures and excise payment documents may be acceptable to PEPC for membership registration.
